Frank Baum was writing the first Oz book, ...When L. Frank Baum was writing the first Oz book, he did not use Kansas as the initial setting. He used South Dakota. But, since he was living and working in S. Dakota, he thought it would be bad for business, so changed it to Kansas. I guess he did know anyone there and wouldn't get into trouble for it! :-) Anyway, it is of course, a metaphor for "real life." <br /><br />I guess my favorite character is Glinda. I like showing up at the last minute and giving wise advice, and and her pink dress in the MGM movie is to die for! <br /><br />Of the 14 Oz books written by Baum, I like the 3rd one best, Ozma of Oz. <br /><br />Looking forward to the new movie!!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06593918058430902866noreply@blogger.com
